Cover-ups that don't give the old tattoo away
Cover-ups are my specialty, and I take on dark and large old tattoos too. I build every design around what is already there, so the new piece doesn't give away that it's a cover-up. A lot depends on the size, darkness and placement of the old tattoo. I'm very critical of my own work: up close I see every detail and know where the old tattoo set the limits. Clients see the whole piece — a new tattoo where the old one no longer catches the eye.
Compared with a regular tattoo, making the design can take up to several dozen hours, so everything can be covered perfectly and the client gets the best solution. That means a lot of back-and-forth.

I'm Carolyn Kirimägi — a tattoo artist whose signature is bold color and soft transitions. I've been tattooing since 2017: color neo-traditional, neo-realism, realism and complex cover-ups. I work from a private studio at Roheline 74 in Pärnu, Estonia, one project at a time, with all of my attention on you.
Every design is personal: we start from your idea, I sketch it into a story, and we bring it onto skin at a pace that suits your body. I always draw my own design, so the result is yours alone.

How do I book a session?
Message me on Instagram @carolynkirimagi_tattoo or call +372 5681 6887. Describe your idea, the size and the placement, and add inspiration pictures if you have them. Complex projects start with a consultation at the studio. A booking needs a €150 deposit, which is deducted from the final price. The waiting list is usually 1–2 months.
How much does a tattoo cost?
I work with a session price: one session is €600 and lasts about 6 hours. The €150 deposit paid when booking is deducted from the final price. You can pay at the studio in cash or by bank transfer.
Can I see the design before the session?
Yes. For a regular tattoo, the design reaches you 1–2 days before your appointment, and smaller changes can still be made then. Larger designs and cover-ups start earlier and go in phases: first a rough sketch to settle the layout, and only then the detailed drawing.
Do you tattoo designs drawn by other artists?
No. I always create my own design, so the result is personal and true to my style. Inspiration pictures are still welcome — they help me understand your idea.
Can a very dark, large old tattoo be covered up?
Yes, I specialize in demanding cover-ups. I build the design around the existing tattoo so the new piece doesn't give the old one away. The result depends on the size, darkness and placement of the old tattoo. How old does a tattoo need to be before a cover-up?
The old tattoo has to be fully healed, ideally several months or years old. How complex the cover-up is depends on the size, darkness and placement of the existing tattoo.
Does getting tattooed hurt?
Everyone's pain threshold is different, but getting tattooed is usually more uncomfortable than unbearable. The most sensitive areas are the neck, the ribs and around the knees and elbows. Every part of the body has its better and worse sides.
Can I use numbing cream?
No. Most numbing creams change the texture of the skin, make it harder to put the ink in and often hurt the final result.
How should I prepare for the session?
Rest well, eat a proper breakfast and moisturize your skin beforehand following my instructions. Wear something comfortable, dark and loose that gives access to the area — for an upper-arm tattoo, a tank top rather than a rolled-up T-shirt.
Can I bring a friend to the session?
For longer sessions it is better to come alone: the studio is small, and it helps both of you focus. There is a TV in the studio if you'd like to watch a show or a film.
How do I care for a new tattoo?
Aftercare is half of the final result. After the session the tattoo is covered with a special aftercare dressing. Healing takes about 2 weeks: clean it with a gentle soap, apply aftercare cream twice a day and let it breathe. No sauna, swimming or baths. I give you everything you need.
When can I work out after getting tattooed?
Avoid hard training for at least 3–5 days. The main rule is not to stretch or strain the tattooed area while it heals. If the workout doesn't involve that area, it's not ruled out, but clean the tattoo properly afterwards.
Is it safe?
I use only single-use, top-quality needles and supplies for maximum sterility. The inks are top-quality Xtreme inks that meet the latest EU requirements.
Who can't get tattooed?
You must be 18 or older. I don't tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if the area has active inflammation or sunburn.
Do you tattoo fingers or faces?
It depends on the design and your previous experience, but in general I avoid places where ink wears off quickly.
Where is the studio?
The private studio is at Roheline 74 in Pärnu, Estonia (Ülejõe district), in the inner courtyard, postal code 80010. Parking is free, and you can drive into the courtyard right up to the studio door. Visits are by appointment only — one client at a time.
